AIBUILD Secures EMDG Grant For Expanding Into UK Market

AIBUILD Approved For EMDG Grant

As Australia continues to be a major player in the world’s innovation and development space, providing support for expanding the country’s businesses into different markets is paramount. It is for this reason that we are proud to announce that AIBUILD has secured the EMDG grant from the Australian government, which will support us to expand our efforts into the UK market.

As a means of supporting Australian small and medium enterprises in exports and international expansion, this grant offers us the chance to truly showcase Australia’s AI innovation space. We hope that this work, along with continued support from the Australian Government for Australia’s SMEs, will allow Australia to solidify its reputation as a hub for technological progress.

What is the EMDG?

The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) is a program by the Australian government which is designed to support and encourage expansion into international markets by Australian businesses. This support comes in the form of financial help for offsetting promotional costs and other eligible marketing costs, which may otherwise lead to risks when growing overseas.

How Much is the EMDG For 2025-26?

In this particular round of EMDG funding, up to $104.5 million has been made available by the Australian Government, with amounts per business being between $20,000 up to $80,000 per financial year depending on the specific tier of funding.

Who Receives Export Market Development Grants?

To quote the Austrade website directly:

The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) provide grants for the following:

Tier 1 – Small and medium enterprises ready to export

Tier 2 – Small and medium enterprises exporting within existing markets

Tier 3 – Small and medium enterprises exporting to new key markets

Representative bodies – Those who support small and medium business members to achieve export success.

In other words, this grant scheme aims to give enterprises which are ready to expand their products into the global market a viable means of doing so. We at AIBUILD are excited to have been provided with this unique and humbling opportunity to represent Australia’s Artificial Intelligence space, and will do all we can to ensure that this honour is earned.
